New York Bereavement & Grief Counseling

Therapist Danielle Scheinberg

I offer loss and grief counseling online for clients anywhere in New York State. Do you find yourself slipping into sadness, struggling to get through each day? Are you replaying memories and wondering how to move forward without your loved one?

You’re not alone. Many people feel the intense weight of grief and the uncertainty of how to cope. It can feel like the world is moving on while you’re stuck in place, unable to find peace or direction.

Time does not always heal your pain.
Are you:

  • Overwhelmed by sadness or uncertainty?

  • Struggling to redefine your identity?

  • Replaying past events?

  • Worried about the future after losing a loved one?

  • Grieving beyond what feels “normal”?

How Grief Counseling With Me Helps

Prolonged grief can eventually lead to or affect:

  • Anxiety or depression

  • PTSD

  • Substance abuse

  • Your ability to care for yourself

  • Career

  • Other relationships

Counseling helps you handle and prevent overwhelming emotions, while also coming to terms with your loss in a way that honors the memory of your loved one, even the “un-perfect”, messy moments, allowing you to move forward in a way that honors their memory.

In bereavement and grief counseling sessions, we’ll create a safe, supportive space where you can speak openly about your loss and emotions. I offer consistent support and understanding, especially when family and friends have returned to their lives or can no longer bear your pain.

Over time, counseling can help you find meaning in your life and your loss, helping you move forward.

Navigating Grief, Together

Grief is a deeply personal experience, unique to each individual, yet it is a universal journey. In our sessions, we'll explore the impact of your loved one's loss, honoring their memory and significance in your life. You will gain insights not only into living with grief but also into understanding its nuances.

Together, we'll uncover:

  • Emotions that overwhelm you

  • Memories that bring both pain and comfort

  • The ways in which an absence transforms your world

  • How therapy can offer relief and healing
