My Specialties Are:

“My passion for psychology grew from a commitment to helping individuals achieve meaningful change in their lives. “

Dr. Rebecca Sperling is a licensed psychologist specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She is passionate about helping individuals develop practical skills and strategies to enhance their relationships, improve decision-making, decrease anxiety, boost mood, and build confidence. Dr. Sperling believes in each person's capacity for meaningful change and is dedicated to supporting her clients as they take those first steps toward a more fulfilling life.

Dr. Sperling received advanced clinical training at Columbia University's New York State Psychiatric Institute, where she worked in a partial hospitalization and day treatment program for adolescents with complex mental health needs. There, she provided intensive therapy, led CBT and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) groups, conducted neuropsychological assessments, and worked closely with a multidisciplinary team. She also served at Montefiore Medical Center’s Rose F. Kennedy Evaluation and Rehabilitation unit, providing therapy to clients dealing with a range of mental health needs. She completed a fellowship and served as a clinician at the Center for Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy in New York City before being in private practice.

In her practice, Dr. Sperling takes a collaborative approach, acting as a guide for her clients as they navigate the challenges that come with growth and change. She knows that taking the first step can be daunting, but also full of possibility. By integrating evidence-based practices with genuine compassion, she supports individuals as they step outside their comfort zones, cultivate resilience, decrease anxiety, and embrace opportunities for growth.

Dr. Sperling’s contributions to the field extend beyond her clinical practice. She is a published author with multiple academic and clinical research studies focused on adapting CBT and DBT interventions for underserved populations. Her background in neuroscience informs her understanding of emotional regulation and pain, adding a unique depth to her therapeutic work.

When she’s not providing therapy, Dr. Sperling enjoys traveling, reading a good book, practicing yoga, and spending time with her family and Yorkie.
